How to choose the right marine-derived Omega-3s?

Fish must come from sustainable fishing to allow for their renewal. Oil extraction must be carried out without chemical solvents and using a cold process to avoid denaturing the fatty acids. What is the difference between plant-based and marine-based omega-3s?

Plant-based omega-3s contain alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which our bodies must convert into EPA and DHA using specific enzymes. Marine-derived omega-3s are therefore more effective.

What is the TOTOX index?

The TOTOX (Total Oxidation) index is a measure used to assess the quality and freshness of oils, especially those rich in omega-3. It is an important index for omega-3s because they are sensitive to heat and light and therefore oxidize easily. A TOTOX index below 10 is a guarantee of excellent oil quality. Our omega-3s come from oils with a TOTOX index of 2.
