Arabs introduced the bitter orange tree to Spain in the 9th century. It then took the name "Seville orange tree," although its fruits were unfit for consumption. Bitter oranges, also known as "sour oranges," are recognizable by their thick, rough peel and their tart, acidic pulp.
Organic Petitgrain Bitter Orange essential oil is obtained exclusively by steam distillation of the fresh twigs and leaves of Citrus aurantium L. ssp. amara.
The scent of Petitgrain Bitter Orange essential oil, both tangy and floral, is both euphoric and relaxing, depending on individual needs.
