Description

Organic Karanja oil, a must-have in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, is exceptional due to its composition of Karanjin and Pongamol, two molecules known for protecting the skin from the harmful effects of the sun.

Reputed for its purifying properties, organic Karanja oil is used as a treatment for all skin types and as a hair care product. It is particularly used for problematic skin and to protect hair from lice.

  • Botanical name: Pongamia glabra
  • Part of the plant: Seeds
  • Extraction method: Cold pressing by grinding and pressing the seeds, then deodorization by physical processes, without chemical treatment
  • Main essential fatty acids:
    Linoleic acid (C18:2): 16 to 18%
    Linolenic acid (C18:3): 1.5 - 3.5%
    Palmitoleic acid (C16:1): max 2%
    Oleic acid (C18:1): 45 to 47%
    Palmitic acid (C16:0): 12 to 14%
    Stearic acid (C18:0): 11 to 13%
    Unsaponifiables: 1-3%
