Back to School Hair Mask - Coconut & Lavender

Trust the properties of Coconut Oil and Lavender to protect your little ones' hair from lice... This hair balm has saved many heads at the start of the school year! An ideal and natural anti-lice treatment to nourish, soothe and strengthen the scalp.

Usage: Apply to all of your cherubs' hair (ends and roots), leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then remove lice and nits with a specialized comb. Then shampoo once or more depending on hair type.
Targets: All hair types
Benefits: Protects hair for the back-to-school season, nourishing, soothing, protective

Equipment:

  • Bowl
  • Mini whisk
  • Scale and/or 100 ml beaker
  • 100 ml jar

Storage: approx. 6 months (if made under perfect hygiene conditions and stored away from air, heat, and light).

Ingredients

PHASE A

  • 29 g - Organic Shea Butter

PHASE B

  • 75 ml - Organic Coconut Oil or Raw Tahiti Monoi A.O.

PHASE C

  • 7 drops - Tocopherol - Vitamin E
  • 40 drops - Organic True Lavender Essential Oil or Organic Lavandin Grosso Essential Oil

Preparation

  1. Melt the Shea butter in a double boiler.
  2. Remove from heat, add the Coconut oils. If the preparation solidifies too quickly, melt it again in a double boiler to homogenize the preparation.
  3. Then add the Tocopherol and Lavender essential oil. Mix gently after each addition.
  4. Place the preparation in the freezer for several minutes. Remove it when it starts to become opaque, then mix again until you get a smooth and creamy paste.
  5. Transfer it to your container.

Tips:

Double boiler: Use a simple saucepan with a little water brought to a boil. Place your bowl in it to melt your ingredients.

Butter: To soften the butter and make it easier to remove, run your jar under hot water.

Solid vegetable oil: To liquefy, run the container under hot water or melt in a double boiler. Without a scale, 1 tablespoon of solid butter ≈ 5mL.
