Cultivation & Origin

Traditionally, exotic verbena fruits were used to aid digestion and stimulate body and mind.
In China, it is used in cosmetics for its pleasant scent, and in infusions for its relaxing and calming properties.
This essential oil is different from other types of verbena, such as lemon verbena and common verbena. Its floral, fresh, and slightly spicy scent makes it a very pleasant essential oil to use, especially in atmospheric diffusion.

Health Benefits

Soothes joint and muscle tension :

  • Organic exotic verbena essential oil has a fairly high concentration of geranial and neral (60 to 75%), complemented by limonene. These three molecules have a strong anti-inflammatory action, which makes this essential oil interesting for helping to control the body's inflammatory response in case of muscle or joint tension.
It will also be useful for regaining comfort when suffering from contractures, aches, or tension. For this use, it is applied by massage, diluted in a vegetable oil, on the sensitive areas until the pain subsides, alone or in combination with other essential oils with complementary virtues.

Fights stress, overwork, and fatigue :

  • The fresh, citrusy scent of exotic verbena essential oil also helps to balance mood, fight stress, and awaken the senses.
Like other essential oils such as sweet orange, for example, organic exotic verbena essential oil will be ideal in cases of nervous fatigue, blues, or temporary low mood.
It will be used mainly in atmospheric diffusion or by olfaction to promote a more positive state of mind and to relax daily. It can also be used in massage on the solar plexus and back, diluted in a vegetable oil, as it is potentially allergenic due to the citrals it contains. Diffused into the ambient air, it will help create a relaxing, warm atmosphere, conducive to creativity and concentration.

Promotes digestion and soothes digestive problems :

  • The stimulating properties of exotic verbena oil can also be recommended for digestive health, particularly to help soothe heartburn and acid reflux.
It will also be a good natural ally in cases of constipation or difficult digestion, and will help regain comfort and well-being daily in combination with a balanced diet rich in fiber.

Repels insects and purifies ambient air :

  • Antibacterial and repellent thanks to the citrals it contains, organic exotic verbena essential oil naturally fights against viruses and bacteria present in the air. Diffused in combination with other essential oils such as citronella or geranium, it will also help repel unwanted insects such as mosquitoes.

It is notably renowned for helping to eliminate cold sores, as well as candidiasis, which develops in moist areas of the skin.
