Culture & Origin

Organic katafray grows only in the western and southern regions of Madagascar. It is a fast-growing tree: its growth is estimated at 50 cm per year! It can reach a height of 1 to 3 m at the age of 7.
Katafray is mainly used by the Malagasy for its wood and bark. It is notably used for the construction of ships, coffins, or woodwork. Organic katafray essential oil is obtained by distilling the bark.
