Galien's Cerate for Dry and Intolerant Skin

This Galen's cerate, a cosmetic preparation used for millennia, is a "Water-in-Oil" cream with a rich texture, ideal for dry and sensitive skin.
Nourishing, protective and soothing, without emulsifier, fragrance, colorant or preservative, this formula perfectly respects the traditional composition of Galen's cerate as well as the most sensitive skin.

Use: Apply to face and body as often as desired.

Equipment:

• 2 Bowls
• Mini whisk
• Scale and/or 5 ml spoon + 10 ml syringe
• 50 ml jar

Shelf life: At least 1 month (if made under perfect hygienic conditions and stored away from air, heat, and light).

Ingredients

PHASE A

• 25 ml - Organic Sweet Almond Oil or Organic Calendula Oil
• 2.5 g - Organic Yellow Beeswax (1 x 5 ml spoon)

PHASE B

• 25 ml - Organic Damask Rose Hydrosol or Organic Chamomile Hydrosol

Preparation

1. Melt the almond oil with the beeswax in a double boiler.
2. In another bowl, prepare the rose hydrosol. Warm it gently in a double boiler.
3. Off the heat, pour PHASE A into PHASE B. Mix gently until you obtain a homogeneous preparation.
4. Once the preparation whitens and thickens, transfer it to your container.

Tips:

Double boiler: Use a simple saucepan with a little water brought to a boil. Place your bowl in it to melt your ingredients.
