STRESS & FATIGUE
Hemlock, also known as tsuga, is a rather rare shrub that strongly resembles the Himalayan cedar. It is distinguished by its flat, flexible needles with blunted tips, implanted one by one all around the branch, unlike cedars which have needles arranged in tufts and implanted on a cushion like spruces.
A tree of the Pinaceae family, hemlock grows easily in a shady environment and appreciates humidity. It is often found as an ornamental tree in Japanese gardens.

Cultivation & Origin
Hemlock bark was long used for tanning animal skins into leather, even leading to overexploitation of the tree in Quebec, where it originated.
In North America, indigenous people used the branches to relieve fever, improve digestive comfort, and as beneficial herbal teas.
Today, hemlock is more commonly used for its medicinal properties, which are found in infusions or essential oils. The latter is obtained by distilling the entire plant.
